How to apply for general funding
We regret to inform you that the Moondance Foundation is temporarily closed to applications. Please keep an eye on the website for further information.
We will reopen shortly (around mid-November)
+ Can I speak to someone before I make an application?
We are sorry we cannot discuss or consider a potential application or project before an application is made via our online application form.
+ What happens to my application?
Once we have ascertained that we have all the information we need we will make a decision.
We will contact you if you have been successful, and we will ask for the following information:
Bank details of your organisation, in the form of a copy of the organisation’s bank statement, paying-in slip or cheque book
In some cases, we may ask for ID, such as payslip from the organisation, driving licence or passport
We reserve the right to ask for references or speak to other funders about your organisation.
Please be aware, because of the high level of applications we receive, we regret we can ONLY respond to those who are successful.
+ Do you have application deadlines?
No, Moondance generally does not have deadlines. In some circumstances, we have to close to applications, but try to keep this time to a minimum.
+ How long does the whole process take?
We try to respond and issue the grant funding as quickly as we can, as we know how important this is for organisations.
If you have not heard within 12 weeks, you should assume that your application has been unsuccessful.
+ How long should my application be?
We ask all organisations to complete our online Application Form and answer questions as fully as possible. Please follow the word count guide on the application form questions where stated.
+ If I do not not receive any funding from Moondance, am I able to get any feedback?
Unfortunately, because of the high levels of applications, we only respond to those we will be funding, and we cannot give detailed feedback to those who do not receive Mooondance support.
We try to make our website and guidelines as straightforward as possible to help you to ascertain if you are eligible to apply and request all the information we need in your application to make an informed decision.
Typical reasons for applications being declined include:
your organisation is not operating in Wales, this is where we focus most of our funding.
unclear application that does not explain what you do, why it is needed and what difference you are making.
+ If we apply for too much funding, will we get nothing?
No, if your requested sum is larger than the Trustees think is appropriate, they may grant a smaller amount to help your work on the condition that additional funding will be successfully secured from other sources.
+ If I receive funding, what are the reporting requirements?
The reporting requirements will be confirmed to you when the funding is transferred. The frequency will depend on the project and the amount of money received, however we do not want to make any reporting overly onerous for you.
