Established in 2020, Moondance Cancer Initiative is an independent not-for-profit company, philanthropically funded by the Moondance Foundation.
Their aim is to accelerate significant and sustained improvement in cancer survival outcomes in Wales over the next 10 to 15 years.
While the Foundation provides core funding, Moondance Cancer Initiative is a separate organisation. It has its own governance, team, and funding processes.
Accessing Moondance Cancer Initiative funding
Moondance Cancer Initiative finds, funds and fuels brilliant people and brave ideas to make Wales a world leader in cancer outcomes.
They invest in work that helps shift outcomes — from national, transformational change to focused, practical ideas that remove barriers, test smarter ways of working, or strengthen what’s already underway.
The Keith James Grants are a £1 million fund enabling NHS Wales professionals to access training, attend events, and engage with leading ideas and practices — whether local, national, or international — to improve cancer care in Wales.
